About Gem Diagram

Gem Diagram is a web-based studio for gem cutters — create, edit, and render faceting diagrams entirely in your browser. No installs, no platform lock-in: it runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Chromebooks.

Who it's for

Gem Diagram is built for the full range of faceters, from someone cutting their first stone to working professionals. The Guided Creator walks beginners from a blank canvas to a finished diagram one tier at a time, while full facet-table control and rough-yield planning give professionals the precision they need for client work.

Works with your existing files

Gem Diagram is backward compatible with GemCAD (.gem, .asc) and Gem Cut Studio (.gcs) files. Decades of published faceting diagrams open and render in 3D immediately — no rebuilding from scratch. For paper-era designs, Gem Diagram also supports PDF diagram import.

The whole workflow

Start with the rough, move into design, and preview a realistic render with true brilliance, dispersion, and color. From there, tier-by-tier cutting guidance carries the design to the machine, and client preview links and the showcase make it easy to share the finished stone.

Actively developed

New features ship regularly to the browser — nothing to update or reinstall. See what's new on News, or get oriented with the getting started docs.
